My Carbon Footprint

The massive increase of people around the globe is affecting the earth by consuming energy that leads to release carbon dioxide. What is Carbon footprint? Carbon Footprint is the amount of carbon dioxide and greenhouse gases emitted by us in our daily life. I will report about me, my classmates, and other people from other country carbon footprints.

I looked up for three websites, hero of the UAE, my foot print and WWF carbon foot print calculator to check my carbon footprint. In heroes of the UAE I’ve been asked about my general uses of electricity, food, where do I live, how is my house, cooling, swimming pool, lighting, cooking and a lot of these questions about my life style. Most of the websites have the same categories as food, travel, home and other stuffs (Footprint calculator). Unfortunately my result showed that if everyone lived like me, we will need 2.31 earths!!

I compared my carbon footprint with three of my classmates Basel, Khaleel and Ali. I found that three of us were nearly the same between 2-3 planets needed. I refer that due the almost same life style we live and the same country. Then I compared with other people around the globe. In Europe I found that their carbon footprint was less than mine. Why is that? Their life style is completely different than ours. They walk, use buses than using cars separately. They already have cold weather so they will not use electricity to cool their houses like we do here. I look to the average of plants for the UAE and I found that equals 10.33 planets which mean that we have one of the biggest carbon footprints here (The size of your ecological footprint).

Carbon Footprint is one of the biggest reasons to Global warming. So at least we can reduce releasing CO2 by doing these simple steps every day, which really affects and reduce Carbon Footprint. For example switch lights and TVs that you are not using, waste less by recycling things as papers, magazines and cans. Reduce the need to travel instead of traveling every summer travel every two. Save water which most people do not. Accomplishing these simple things will really help and save many humans and animals lives.

  1. This is a well-written essay that accomplishes the task and gives clear references for more information.

To make this piece of writing exceptional, why not add a bar graph to compare the results of your research with your classmates'?
